These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Au Revoir platform and services. By using Au Revoir, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our services.

We've tried to write these terms in plain English. We understand you may be using our service during a difficult time, and we want to be clear and straightforward.

What We Provide

Au Revoir is a coordination platform that helps families, funeral directors, venues, and other parties work together during funeral planning. We provide tools for communication, task management, and information sharing.

Important: Au Revoir is a coordination tool, not a funeral services provider. We don't provide funeral services directly. All services (venue hire, catering, officiating, etc.) are provided by independent professionals who use our platform.

Your Account

To use Au Revoir, you'll need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Notify us if you suspect unauthorised access
  • Be responsible for activity under your account

You must be at least 18 years old to use Au Revoir.

Acceptable Use

Please use Au Revoir respectfully. You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for anything illegal
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Share false or misleading information
  • Attempt to access others' accounts or data
  • Interfere with the platform's operation
  • Use automated systems to access the platform without permission

For Families

When you create a coordination space for funeral arrangements, you control who has access. You can invite family members and professionals to join. You're responsible for ensuring you have the authority to share information about the arrangements.

Our platform is free for families. We may offer optional premium features in the future.

For Professionals

Funeral directors, venues, celebrants, and other professionals may use Au Revoir under our professional subscription plans. By using our platform professionally, you agree to:

  • Maintain appropriate professional qualifications and insurance
  • Respond to enquiries in a timely manner
  • Treat families with dignity and respect
  • Honour commitments made through the platform
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

We reserve the right to remove professionals who don't meet our standards or who receive consistent negative feedback.

Payments

Professional subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as specified at signup. All fees are in GBP and exclude VAT where applicable. You can cancel your subscription at any time, effective at the end of your current billing period.

Content and Data

You retain ownership of any content you share on Au Revoir. By sharing content, you grant us a licence to store, display, and share it with parties you've invited — solely to provide our services.

We handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

Au Revoir is provided "as is". While we strive to provide a reliable service, we can't guarantee uninterrupted access or that the platform will meet every need.

We're not responsible for the actions of professionals or other users on our platform. Disputes between users should be resolved directly between the parties involved.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Au Revoir's liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (or £100, whichever is greater). We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by email or through the platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
